Seasons of Life by Audrey Cofield

Estival Days

Radiant Days with shady trees
Gently stirred by summers breeze
Await the season's busy stride.
Children's screams will soon be heard
Melodic songs of native bird
Will echo through the country-side.

Boating days and family fun
Tawny skins from scorching sun
Spell, care-free days so soon to end.
Swimming trunks and diving boards,
Sandy beaches flecked with hordes.
Throughout the country tourists wend.

Going and coming here and there
Vermiform cars on thoroughfare.
Time, yields no vacancy to stop or rest.
Yet, when the summer days are through
And fall again makes her debut -
We all agree, that estival days are best.
