Seasons of Life by Audrey Cofield

Curved Corner

The Dead End Road

We are traveling down a dead end road
      With no divergence in sight.
            Not knowing how near
                  We travel in fear
Of reaching the end before night.

There are signs along this once-traveled path
That man would be wise to heed,
            For he cannot turn back
                  If the courage he lack
To lessen the pace of his speed.

We have no choice but take this road,
So it is best we take it slow.
            Find somehow each day,
                  To brighten the way,
And watch for the valley below.
