Seasons of Life by Audrey Cofield

Curved Corner

Bartering at the Brink

As a Nation we live,
By the thought that we give,
To the wares of our salesmen foe,
We sell or we buy,
For, we live or we die,
By the seeds of resistance we sow.

Great is our need
To think and read,
Groom our people in wholesome thought,
For propaganda coming in
Can befuddle all men,
If the truth is not clearly wrought.

May the day be near,
When we forget our fear,
Stand fearlessly calm and strong.
Only light, not fight,
Can ease our plight,
When we learn the right from the wrong.
