Seasons of Life by Audrey Cofield

Curved Corner

Idleness

People who succumb to idleness
      Suffer moral decay,
For man was not put on earth
      To squander his life away.

He has need for a sense of accomplishment,
A joy in a task well done,
An enthusiasm for daily living,
That will convert his work into fun.

No one can expect to find happiness,
If they do not create or plan,
Only, the active in body and mind,
Are a delight to their fellow man.
