Seasons of Life by Audrey Cofield

Curved Corner

Betwixt

The endless stream of humanity
That flows down the river of time,
Convokes the lofty sediment
      Amid the ghastly crime.

The checkered pattern of evil and good
Potently mixed like a dazzling drink,
Betwixt environment and heredity
Give birth to the thoughts that we think.

It moves in a swift dashing current,
Where the old gives way to the new,
And the skeptics still remain critics
      When the modification is through.

Ah! well it is that creation
Ever changes with passing of time,
And the dauntless tide of humanity
Keeps rising to new heights sublime!
