Seasons of Life by Audrey Cofield

Curved Corner

Footprints

Wild animals that plundered
     In the darkness all around,
Left weird and grotesque footprints
     Embedded in the ground.

The muddy earth held evidence
     Of their wanderings everywhere,
As they searched for food and romance
To and from their secret lair.

We found it most exciting
And a knowledge at first hand,
Just to study criss-cross foot prints
     Entrenched in sodden land.
